Cuenca con Carácter offers you three restaurants where you can sample the local cuisine.
Restaurant Piola
The place formerly destined for the greenhouse is the setting in which the Hotel Convento del Giraldo offers a first-class culinary offer.
This is the Piola restaurant, located in a building annexed to which, however, is accessed from inside the establishment. There we can contemplate a huge Piola discovered during the rehabilitation works, which with almost four meters of depth and more than thirty cubic meters of volume, served to store water in the Middle Ages.
Bright, spacious and exquisitely decorated under an impressive exposed wooden ceiling, the restaurant offers a varied menu of local dishes.
Tempo Bar & Grill Restaurant
Located in the former stables of the Palace, now Hotel Leonor de Aquitania, in a space entirely carved in stone, we find the Tempo Bar & Grill restaurant, in the heart of the historic center of the city of Cuenca, with access from San Pedro Street or from Julián Romero Round.
The Tempo Bar & Grill presents a traditional Castilian cuisine made with excellent products from the region, fresh and seasonal, with careful and natural preparation, to which we bring modernity and innovation. Stand out for its meat and game dishes, and an exquisite tasting menu.
Rustic decoration, pleasant atmosphere and a friendly and efficient service complement and reinforce the culinary offer of the Tempo Bar & Grill restaurant.
El Colmado Restaurant
Our third gastronomic option for your stay in Cuenca. In the morning, we offer you an exquisite buffet breakfast with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, juices, coffee, teas, and, of course, freshly baked pastries.
At noon and at night, the kitchen of our establishment, located in the Hotel Cueva del Fraile, invites you to discover the typical Castilian-Manchego cuisine: game meats, stews with a traditional flavor (garlic arriero, morteruelo or manchego pisto) are the basis of our menu that will delight any palate. After satisfying your stomach, we invite you to taste the liqueurs of our land (resoli, aguardiente…).
If the weather is good, you can also enjoy a good meal outdoors in our summer restaurant, next to the pool, where you can taste a wide variety of exquisite rices.
Restaurant La Ladera
Located in front of the pool of Hotel Cueva del Fraile, Restaurant La Ladera is specially designed to make summer meals unforgettable. Rice dishes are the foundation of its menu, filled with refreshing and exquisite dishes.

A Cielo Abierto restaurant
The most romantic and suggestive dinners are served in the central courtyard of the Hotel Cueva del Fraile. Music, lights, and sophistication turn this ancient 16th-century courtyard into the perfect setting to enjoy an unforgettable evening.
